Ingredients
- Shrimp - 200 grams, peeled and deveined
- Phyllo dough - 4 sheets
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 30 grams, melted
Steps
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and shrimp to the skillet, cooking until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush with more butter.
- Cut the stacked phyllo sheets into 4 equal strips lengthwise. Place a tablespoon of the shrimp mixture at one end of each strip.
- Fold the phyllo over the filling to form a triangle, then continue folding the triangle along the strip to the end, sealing the filling inside. Brush the top with more melted butter.
- Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets and shrimp mixture.
- Place the briouats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
