Ingredients
- Phyllo dough - 4 sheets
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa) - 100 grams
- Ground almonds - 50 grams
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- Butter - 30 grams (melted)
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, melt the dark chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix the ground almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and melted chocolate until well combined.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush again with butter.
- Cut the stacked phyllo sheets into 4 equal strips.
- Place a tablespoon of the chocolate-almond mixture at one end of each strip.
- Fold the corner of the strip over the filling to form a triangle, then continue folding in a triangular pattern until you reach the end of the strip.
- Seal the end with a little melted butter.
- Repeat with the remaining strips and filling.
- Place the briouats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds over them.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey and water, heating until warm and mixed.
- Remove the briouats from the oven and immediately drizzle the honey mixture over them.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
