- Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey - for drizzling
- Fresh fruit (such as figs, oranges, or pomegranates) - for serving
Steps
- In a bowl, combine lukewarm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground cardamom.
- Add the melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then pour this mixture into the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf or individual rolls. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Let the shaped dough rise for another 30 minutes, then bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with honey and accompanied by fresh fruit.
