- Chopped almonds - 50 grams
- Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture, eggs, and orange blossom water to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Gradually incorporate the softened butter into the dough, kneading until fully absorbed.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and knead in the chopped almonds and ground cinnamon.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the loaf and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the brioche for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
