- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Warm water - 100 milliliters
- Eggs - 2 large
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Milk - 50 milliliters
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Saffron strands - a pinch
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the saffron strands in warm water and set aside to steep for about 10 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, active dry yeast, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and the saffron water mixture.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- After the dough has risen, transfer it to a lightly greased loaf pan and shape it to fit.
- Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes in the pan, covered with a cloth.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with honey or jam.
