Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Milk - 150 ml, warmed
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Butter - 50 grams, softened
  • Sesame seeds - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and the egg.
  3. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms, then knead in the softened butter until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  4. Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into two round balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops of the dough balls with a little water and sprinkle sesame seeds generously on top.
  8. Let the shaped dough rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
