Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Unsalted butter (melted) - 100 grams
- Water - 80 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Ground almonds - 50 grams
- Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Slowly add water until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, then wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix ground almonds, sugar, ground cinnamon, honey, and orange blossom water to create the filling.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 3 mm thick. Cut into squares or circles.
- Place a spoonful of the almond filling in the center of each piece of dough, fold over, and seal the edges with a fork.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
