Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Phyllo pastry sheets - 4 sheets
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, ground lamb, cinnamon, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook until the lamb is browned, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in the honey and chopped parsley, mixing well. Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
- On a clean surface, lay one sheet of phyllo pastry and brush it with olive oil. Place another sheet on top and repeat the process until you have two layers.
- Place a portion of the lamb filling on one end of the phyllo pastry and roll it tightly into a cylinder shape, sealing the edges with a little olive oil.
- Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling, then place all rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces and serving.
