Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 200 grams
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium (about 100 grams)
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Cilantro, chopped - 30 grams
  • Parsley, chopped - 30 grams
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Puff pastry sheets - 2 (about 250 grams total)
  • Egg, beaten - 1 (for egg wash)
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground lamb to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chopped cilantro, parsley, cinnamon, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into 4 equal squares.
  6. Place a generous spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  7. Fold the pastry over the filling to create triangles or rectangles, sealing the edges with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
