- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast and honey in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, semolina flour, salt, cumin powder, and black pepper.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a round loaf. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and gently press them into the dough.
- Transfer the loaf onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
- Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
