- Dried fava beans - 100 grams
- Water - 750 ml
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Soak the dried fava beans in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain and rinse the soaked fava beans, then place them in a pot with 750 ml of fresh water.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the beans are soft.
- Once the beans are cooked, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more water.
- Stir in the cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper, and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve the soup hot, drizzled with olive oil and garnished with fresh parsley.
