- Dried fava beans - 200 grams
- Water - 1 liter (for boiling)

- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges - 2 (for serving)
Steps
- Soak the dried fava beans in water overnight to soften them.
- Drain and rinse the soaked beans, then place them in a pot with 1 liter of fresh water.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
- Once cooked, drain the beans and transfer them to a blender or food processor.
- Add olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the blender with the beans.
- Blend the mixture until smooth, adding a little water if needed to achieve a creamy consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then transfer the Bissara to a serving bowl.
- Drizzle with additional olive oil and garnish with chopped cilantro.
- Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the dish.
