- Ground ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Beef broth - 250 ml
- Dried apricots - 50 grams, chopped
- Almonds - 30 grams, sliced
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Heat olive oil in a tagine or heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the cubed beef to the pot and brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
- Sprinkle in cumin, cinnamon, ginger, paprika, salt, and black pepper; stir to coat the beef evenly.
- Pour in the beef broth and add the chopped dried apricots. Bring to a simmer.
- Cover the pot and reduce heat to low. Cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is tender.
- Once the beef is cooked, remove the lid and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced almonds and fresh cilantro.
