Ingredients
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg - 1 large
- Brik pastry sheets - 4 sheets
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of vegetable oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet, cooking until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped parsley, cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Once the beef mixture is cool, beat the egg in a bowl and add it to the beef mixture, combining well.
- Lay out one brik pastry sheet on a clean surface and place about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture in the center. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle, sealing the edges with a little water.
- Repeat the process with the remaining pastry sheets and beef mixture.
- In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the briks, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove the briks and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
