  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable broth - 250 ml
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the lamb chunks. Brown the meat on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. Add the prunes, honey, and cinnamon stick to the pot, followed by the vegetable broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the lamb is tender.
  8. Remove the pot from the oven and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm with couscous or bread.
