Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (such as cod or haddock) - 400 grams
  • Fresh parsley - 30 grams, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon slices - 4 slices, for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine the chopped parsley, cilantro, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create the chermoula marinade.
  3. Place the fish fillets in a baking dish and pour the chermoula marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Arrange the lemon slices on top of the marinated fish.
  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
