- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Bolillo rolls - 2 units
- Avocado - 1/2, sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Sour cream - 2 tablespoons (optional)
Steps
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Cut the chicken breast into thinner fillets for quicker cooking and marinate them in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the bolillo rolls by slicing them in half and toasting them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
- To assemble the tortas, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bolillo, followed by the sliced chicken, avocado, tomato, red onion, and cilantro.
- If desired, add a dollop of sour cream on top before placing the other half of the bolillo on top.
