Ingredients

  • Venison steak - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Salsa (optional) - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the venison steak into thin strips and add it to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated venison strips. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the meat is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. While the venison is cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves by washing and drying them, then arrange them on a serving platter.
  5. Once cooked, remove the venison from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before assembling the tacos.
  6. To assemble, place a few strips of venison on each lettuce leaf, top with sliced red onion, avocado, and chopped cilantro. Add salsa if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Tacos de Venado!
