  • Guava paste - 100 grams
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 small, diced
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Corn tortillas - 4 small
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  2. Season the beef flank steak with salt, black pepper, and cumin, then add to the skillet, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  4. In the same skillet, add the guava paste, lime juice, and half of the chopped cilantro, stirring until the guava paste is melted and the sauce is well combined.
  5. Return the sliced beef to the skillet, coat it in the guava sauce, and cook for an additional 2 minutes to reheat.

  8. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
