- White fish fillets (e.g., tilapia or cod) - 300 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Corn tortillas - 4 small
- Avocado - 1 medium, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Red onion - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Jalapeño - 1 small, seeded and minced
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the fish fillets and marinate for 15 minutes.
- While the fish is marinating, prepare the avocado salsa by mixing diced avocado, tomato, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl. Set aside.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated fish fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked through and flaky.
- While the fish is cooking, warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Once the fish is done, flake it into large pieces.
- Assemble the tacos by placing the flaked fish on warm tortillas and topping with the avocado salsa.
