Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g., tilapia or cod) - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Corn tortillas - 4 small
  • Avocado - 1 medium, diced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Red onion - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Jalapeño - 1 small, seeded and minced
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the fish fillets and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. While the fish is marinating, prepare the avocado salsa by mixing diced avocado, tomato, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl. Set aside.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated fish fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked through and flaky.
  4. While the fish is cooking, warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan for about 30 seconds on each side.
  5. Once the fish is done, flake it into large pieces.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing the flaked fish on warm tortillas and topping with the avocado salsa.
