- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Corn tortillas - 4 pieces
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Red onion - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Sour cream or yogurt - 2 tablespoons (optional)
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Marinate the tofu slices in the mixture for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the marinated tofu slices. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- While the tofu is cooking, warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan or microwave until pliable.
- Assemble the tacos by placing 2 slices of cooked tofu on each tortilla.
- Top with sliced avocado, chopped cilantro, red onion, and diced tomato.
- Add a dollop of sour cream or yogurt if desired, and serve immediately.
