Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Tomatillos - 200 grams, husked and rinsed
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Jalapeño pepper - 1 medium, seeded and chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lime juice - 30 ml
  • Olive oil - 15 ml
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Black pepper - 2 grams
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced (for serving)
  • Sour cream - 60 grams (for serving)

Steps

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add 7.5 ml of olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken breast with salt and black pepper, then add it to the skillet. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add the tomatillos, jalapeño, and garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the tomatillos are soft and slightly charred.
  4. Transfer the sautéed mixture to a blender, add lime juice and cilantro, and blend until smooth. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Slice the cooked chicken breast and place it on a serving plate. Spoon the salsa verde over the chicken.
  6. Serve with sliced avocado and a dollop of sour cream on the side.
