- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Tomatillos - 200 grams, husked and rinsed
- Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
- Jalapeño pepper - 1 medium, seeded and chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Lime juice - 30 ml
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Salt - 5 grams
- Black pepper - 2 grams
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced (for serving)
- Sour cream - 60 grams (for serving)
Steps
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add 7.5 ml of olive oil.
- Season the chicken breast with salt and black pepper, then add it to the skillet. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, add the tomatillos, jalapeño, and garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the tomatillos are soft and slightly charred.
- Transfer the sautéed mixture to a blender, add lime juice and cilantro, and blend until smooth. Season with salt to taste.
- Slice the cooked chicken breast and place it on a serving plate. Spoon the salsa verde over the chicken.
- Serve with sliced avocado and a dollop of sour cream on the side.
