Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chihuahua cheese (or Monterey Jack) - 150 grams, shredded
  • Jalapeños - 2 tablespoons, diced
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large leaves
  • Tomato - 1, sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until evenly combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two burger patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the shredded Chihuahua cheese over the patties and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. While the cheese is melting, prepare the toppings. Slice the avocado and tomato, and chop the fresh cilantro.
  6. Once the cheese is melted, remove the patties from the skillet. Place each patty on a lettuce leaf, top with diced jalapeños, sliced avocado, tomato, and chopped cilantro.
  7. Fold the lettuce leaf to form a wrap around the burger and serve immediately.
