Ingredients
- Lean ground beef - 250 grams
- Queso fresco - 100 grams, crumbled
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Avocado - 1, sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1, sliced
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties and make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle crumbled queso fresco on top of each patty to melt slightly.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cilantro-lime sauce by mixing chopped cilantro and lime juice in a small bowl.
- To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each whole wheat bun, followed by the cooked patty with melted queso fresco, sliced avocado, and tomato.
- Drizzle the cilantro-lime sauce over the top and place the other half of the bun on top. Serve immediately.
