Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pita bread - 2 pieces
  • White fish fillets (tilapia or cod) - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Red onion (thinly sliced) - 1 small
  • Cherry tomatoes (halved) - 100 grams
  • Avocado (sliced) - 1 small
  • Shredded cheese (Mexican blend) - 100 grams
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine the fish fillets, olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. While the fish is marinating, place the pita breads on a baking sheet and sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on each.
  4. Bake the pita breads for 5 minutes to slightly crisp them up.
  5. Remove the pita breads from the oven and top them with the marinated fish, followed by red onion slices, cherry tomatoes, and the remaining cheese.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Once cooked, remove the pizzas from the oven and garnish with fresh cilantro and avocado slices.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Pizzas de Pescado!
