- Whole wheat pizza dough - 200 grams
- Chorizo sausage (lean) - 100 grams, sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Mozzarella cheese (part-skim) - 100 grams, shredded
- Queso fresco - 50 grams, crumbled
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges for serving
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the dough lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Evenly distribute the sliced chorizo over the dough, followed by the sliced red bell pepper and red onion.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and crumbled queso fresco over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before garnishing with chopped cilantro.
- Slice the pizza and serve with lime wedges on the side.
