- Poblano peppers - 2 large
- Ground turkey - 150 grams
- Onion - 1 small, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
- Oregano - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
- Walnuts - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Ricotta cheese - 100 grams
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Pomegranate seeds - 2 tablespoons for garnish
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Roast the poblano peppers over an open flame or in the oven until charred. Place them in a plastic bag to steam for about 10 minutes, then peel and deseed.
- In a skillet, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic over medium heat until translucent.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Stir in the diced tomato, cinnamon, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes and set aside.
- Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the turkey mixture evenly over the pizza dough.
- Cut the roasted poblano peppers into strips and arrange them on top of the turkey mixture.
- In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with chopped walnuts and parsley. Dollop this mixture over the pizza.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is slightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with pomegranate seeds before slicing and serving.
