- Tomatillos - 200 grams
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Jalapeño pepper - 1 small, seeded and minced
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- Husk the tomatillos and rinse them under cold water. Cut them in half.
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add the tomatillos. Boil for about 5 minutes until they are soft.
- Remove the tomatillos from the water and let them cool slightly before chopping them into small pieces.
- While the tomatillos are cooling, finely chop the green bell pepper, red onion, and jalapeño pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatillos, green bell pepper, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.
- Add lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the bowl and mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Let the Pico de Gallo Verde sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
