Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Red onion - 1/4 medium, diced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Jalapeño - 1 small, diced (optional)
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cumin. Mix until well blended.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
- Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the pico de gallo by combining diced tomato, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), and lime juice in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
- Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble, place a burger patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with a generous scoop of pico de gallo and sliced avocado.
- Wrap the lettuce around the burger and enjoy your Pico de Gallo Burger!
