Ingredients

  • Ripe tomatoes - 2 medium (about 300g)
  • Red onion - 1/2 medium (about 75g)
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped (about 15g)
  • Jalapeño pepper - 1 small, seeded and minced (about 10g)
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/8 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Finely dice the tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Chop the red onion and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes.
  3. Finely chop the cilantro and add it to the mixture.
  4. Remove the seeds from the jalapeño pepper, mince it, and add it to the bowl.
  5. Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper, then mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  7. Let the Pico de Gallo sit for about 5 minutes for the flavors to meld before serving.
