Ingredients
- Fresh fruit juice (lime, orange, or tamarind) - 240 ml
- Granulated sugar - 100 g
- Water - 240 ml
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Chopped fresh fruit (optional for serving) - 50 g
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and salt over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
- Once the syrup is cool, add the fresh fruit juice of your choice and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
- Every 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape the mixture and break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process until the mixture is fully frozen and fluffy, about 3 hours.
- Once ready, scoop the Nieve de Garrafa into bowls and serve immediately, optionally topped with chopped fresh fruit.
