Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
  • Jalapeño peppers - 2 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, shredded
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. Remove the burgers from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, place each burger patty on a lettuce leaf, top with slices of tomato and avocado, then wrap the lettuce around the filling.
