- Jalapeño peppers - 2 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, shredded
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- Remove the burgers from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble, place each burger patty on a lettuce leaf, top with slices of tomato and avocado, then wrap the lettuce around the filling.
