Ingredients

  • Ground venison - 400 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Bolillo rolls - 2
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Salsa - 1/2 cup

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground venison, garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, slice the bolillo rolls in half and toast them lightly on a separate pan or under a broiler.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each toasted bolillo.
  6. Top each patty with sliced avocado, tomato, red onion, and a generous spoonful of salsa.
  7. Sprinkle chopped cilantro over the top and squeeze fresh lime juice before placing the top half of the bolillo on the burger.
  8. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
