  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  3. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place the shredded queso Oaxaca on top of each patty and cover to melt the cheese.
