Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mole sauce - 100 grams
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4 medium, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Form the beef mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, spoon a generous amount of mole sauce over each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to heat the sauce through.
  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings: slice the avocado, tomato, and red onion.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place each beef patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with mole sauce, avocado slices, tomato, and red onion. Wrap the lettuce around the filling like a bun.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Paleo-friendly Hamburguesa de Mole!
