Ingredients

  • Corn masa flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black beans (cooked and mashed) - 100 grams
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Pico de gallo (tomato, onion, cilantro, lime) - 100 grams
  • Radishes - 4, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the corn masa flour, salt, and water. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into oval discs, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the masa discs for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are slightly browned and cooked through.
  4. While the guaraches are cooking, prepare the toppings: mash the black beans with a bit of lime juice and season with salt.
  5. Once the guaraches are cooked, spread a layer of mashed black beans on top of each one.
  6. Top with sliced avocado, pico de gallo, and radishes.
  7. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving.
