Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 250 grams
  • Corn tortillas - 4
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 small, diced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sour cream - 100 grams
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. In a medium pot, boil the chicken breast in salted water for about 15 minutes or until fully cooked. Remove and shred the chicken.
  2. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the shredded chicken to the skillet along with cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for an additional 5 minutes to combine flavors.
  4. In another skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  5. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture on one end of each tortilla, roll it tightly, and secure with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  6. In the same skillet, add the flautas and fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the flautas hot, topped with sliced avocado, chopped cilantro, a dollop of sour cream, and lime wedges on the side.
