Ingredients
- Cream cheese - 100 grams
- Sweetened condensed milk - 100 grams
- Evaporated milk - 100 milliliters
- Eggs - 2 large
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 50 grams (for caramel)
- Water - 2 tablespoons (for caramel)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water to make the caramel. Stir until the sugar dissolves and turns golden brown, then quickly pour it into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
- In a blender, combine the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the cheese mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the outer pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the flan is set (a knife inserted should come out clean).
- Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert it onto a plate, and enjoy!
