Ingredients

  • Cream cheese - 100 grams
  • Sweetened condensed milk - 100 grams
  • Evaporated milk - 100 milliliters
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 50 grams (for caramel)
  • Water - 2 tablespoons (for caramel)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water to make the caramel. Stir until the sugar dissolves and turns golden brown, then quickly pour it into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
  3. In a blender, combine the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the cheese mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
  5. Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the outer pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the flan is set (a knife inserted should come out clean).
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  8. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert it onto a plate, and enjoy!
