Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Cotija cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Corn (fresh or frozen) - 100 grams
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into 2 equal patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. While the patties are cooking, in the same skillet, add the corn and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until heated through and slightly charred.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the sautéed corn with lime juice and chopped cilantro.
  5. Once the burgers are cooked, place them on a plate and top each with the corn mixture and crumbled cotija cheese.
  6. Serve the burgers on large lettuce leaves, topped with avocado slices.
