Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate (70% cocoa) - 100 grams
  • Whole milk - 250 ml
  • Sweetened condensed milk - 50 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Egg yolks - 2
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Whipped cream (for serving) - as needed
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish) - as needed

Steps

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In a separate saucepan, combine the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon powder. Heat the mixture over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, sugar, and egg yolks until smooth. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking constantly to avoid curdling.
  4. Return the combined mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in the melted chocolate until fully incorporated.
  6. Pour the mixture into serving glasses and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  7. Before serving, top each glass with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
