Ingredients
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa) - 100 grams
- Whole milk - 250 ml
- Sweetened condensed milk - 50 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Egg yolks - 2
- Cinnamon powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Whipped cream (for serving) - as needed
- Chocolate shavings (for garnish) - as needed
Steps
- In a small saucepan, melt the dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon powder. Heat the mixture over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, sugar, and egg yolks until smooth. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking constantly to avoid curdling.
- Return the combined mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in the melted chocolate until fully incorporated.
- Pour the mixture into serving glasses and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Before serving, top each glass with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
