Ingredients

  • Chorizo sausage - 300 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Almond flour - 30 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Fresh cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Leafy greens (lettuce, spinach, or arugula) - 2 cups

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chorizo sausage, egg, almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little oil if necessary. Cook the chorizo patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings. Slice the avocado, juice the lime, and chop the cilantro.
  5. Once the patties are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
  6. To assemble, place a chorizo patty on a bed of leafy greens, top with sliced avocado, a drizzle of lime juice, and sprinkle with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.
