Ingredients

  • ground beef - 200 grams
  • chorizo sausage - 100 grams
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • avocado - 1 medium
  • lime - 1
  • pico de gallo - 100 grams
  • whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, crumbled chorizo, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and salt until well mixed.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, slice the avocado and squeeze lime juice over it to prevent browning.
  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly in the skillet after the patties are done.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, topping with sliced avocado and pico de gallo, and garnishing with fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately with a side of fresh vegetables or a light salad.
