  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Add cornstarch to the chicken and mix until the pieces are well coated.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
  6. Carefully add the chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

  8. Remove the chicharrones from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
