Ingredients

  • Nopal cactus paddles - 200 grams, diced
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Lime juice - 30 ml (approximately 1 lime)
  • Olive oil - 15 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1 medium, diced
  • Radishes - 50 grams, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. Start by washing the nopal cactus paddles thoroughly and removing any spines. Dice the paddles into small pieces.
  2. In a pot of boiling water, add the diced nopal and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked nopal, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss gently to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Allow the mixture to marinate for about 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  5. Serve the ceviche de nopal topped with diced avocado and sliced radishes for added crunch and freshness.
