Ingredients
- Sole fish fillets - 200 grams
- Fresh lime juice - 4 tablespoons
- Red onion - 1/4, finely chopped
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cucumber - 1/2 medium, diced
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Jalapeño pepper - 1 teaspoon, finely chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1/2, diced (for garnish)
Steps
- Cut the sole fish fillets into small, bite-sized pieces and place them in a glass or ceramic bowl.
- Pour the fresh lime juice over the fish, ensuring it's fully submerged. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 20 minutes, allowing the fish to 'cook' in the citrus juice.
- While the fish marinates, prepare the vegetables: finely chop the red onion, dice the tomato and cucumber, and chop the cilantro and jalapeño pepper.
- After 20 minutes, check the fish; it should appear opaque. Drain excess lime juice if desired, then add the chopped vegetables, cilantro, salt, and black pepper to the fish.
- Gently mix all ingredients until combined, then taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately in chilled bowls, garnished with diced avocado.
