Ingredients

  • Fresh white fish (like tilapia or cod) - 200 grams, diced
  • Lime juice - 60 ml (about 4 limes)
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 100 grams, diced
  • Cilantro - 15 grams, chopped
  • Jalapeño - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Iceberg lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced fish with lime juice, ensuring the fish is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the fish is opaque and 'cooked' by the lime juice.
  2. Add the finely chopped red onion, diced tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño to the marinated fish. Mix gently to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. To assemble the burger, take a large iceberg lettuce leaf as the base. Layer with the ceviche mixture and top with avocado slices.
  4. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top, and add another lettuce leaf on top if desired for extra crunch.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Ceviche Burger!
