Ingredients
- Fresh white fish (like tilapia or cod) - 200 grams, diced
- Lime juice - 60 ml (about 4 limes)
- Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Tomato - 100 grams, diced
- Cilantro - 15 grams, chopped
- Jalapeño - 1 small, finely chopped
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Iceberg lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced fish with lime juice, ensuring the fish is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the fish is opaque and 'cooked' by the lime juice.
- Add the finely chopped red onion, diced tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño to the marinated fish. Mix gently to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To assemble the burger, take a large iceberg lettuce leaf as the base. Layer with the ceviche mixture and top with avocado slices.
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the top, and add another lettuce leaf on top if desired for extra crunch.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Ceviche Burger!
