  • Water - 400 milliliters
  • Almond milk - 200 milliliters
  • Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Banana - 1 medium, sliced
  • Berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries) - 100 grams
  • Chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. Rinse the amaranth grains under cold water to remove any impurities.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed amaranth and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the grains are tender and the water has been absorbed.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the almond milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Serve the cereal warm, topped with sliced banana, fresh berries, and chopped nuts.
