Ingredients
- Ground beef (halal) - 250 grams
- Cemita rolls - 2 pieces
- Oaxacan cheese (or mozzarella) - 100 grams, shredded
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Chipotle in adobo sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, and half of the lime juice. Form into two patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the chipotle in adobo sauce with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the chipotle mayo.
- Toast the cemita rolls lightly in the skillet after removing the patties.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading chipotle mayo on both halves of the toasted rolls.
- Layer the bottom half with shredded lettuce, a beef patty, sliced tomato, red onion, avocado, and top with shredded Oaxacan cheese.
- Sprinkle chopped cilantro over the cheese and drizzle with the remaining lime juice before placing the top half of the roll.
- Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
