Ingredients

  • Green onions - 6 large
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cotija cheese - 30 grams, crumbled (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Trim the root ends of the green onions and rinse them under cold water.
  4. Toss the green onions in the olive oil mixture until they are well coated.
  5. Place the green onions on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender and charred.
  6. Remove from the grill and transfer to a serving platter.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and crumbled Cotija cheese, if using.
