Ingredients
- Pork shoulder - 500 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion - 1 medium, diced
- Orange juice - 120 ml
- Lime juice - 30 ml
- Corn tortillas - 4 pieces
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Red onion - 1/4 cup, diced
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Salsa - 100 grams
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, and garlic powder. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a baking dish and add the diced onion, orange juice, and lime juice around it.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours or until the pork is fork-tender.
- Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before shredding it with two forks.
- In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
- Assemble the tacos by placing a generous portion of shredded pork on each tortilla, then top with chopped cilantro, diced red onion, avocado slices, and a spoonful of salsa.
